King Albert Theater
A long theater tradition is associated with the König Albert Theater in Bad Elster. The impressive building is a center for diverse cultural events. The Chur-Saxon cultural partners were always there. Today the theater is the official headquarters of the Chursächsische Philharmonie. The program attracts theater enthusiasts all year round.

The King Albert Theater has a rich history. Gaming operations began in 1888. From 1913 to 1914, the famous Chemnitz architects Alfred Zapp and Erich Basarke built a modern new building. In the audience room, Doric columns meet the second Dresden Rococo style and create a noble ambience. In May 1914, His Majesty King Friedrich August III opened the of Saxony ceremoniously founded the King Albert Theater as the last German court theater.
The traditional theatre has already welcomed many outstanding artists and ensembles to the stage to offer unique moments to all theatre lovers.
