Experience the historic parks in Bad Elster with all your senses - colourful by day, enchanting by night.
Laid out in the style of an English landscape garden around 1850, the historic parkland stretches over 50 hectares like a jewel through Bad Elster. Renowned horticultural artists were involved in the planning and design in the 19th and 20th centuries. At its heart are the Royal Facilities consisting of Park am Badeplatz, Albert Park and Forest Park, lined with nostalgically beautiful spa architecture and historic event venues.
From May to June, the multi-coloured rhododendrons transform the Royal Facilities into a veritable sea of blossoms, as do the approximately 70,000 seasonal plants, which are arranged according to historical planting patterns depending on the season. Be enchanted by refreshing fountains, ornate sculptures, themed gardens and rare woody plants.
The historic parks are enriched by a well-developed and maintained network of hiking and terrain trails. With historic hiking destinations and little insider tips, it invites you to wonderful discoveries.
