Factory of Threads
The city of Plauen is known worldwide for embroidered lace. The lace museum shows the historical development of the Plauen lace and embroidery industry up to the present day. The 14th century building provides the appropriate setting for the museum, which opened in 1984. It is intended to introduce the representative selection of historical lace and embroidery as well as the products from current Plauen lace collections. In addition, the visitor's understanding of a German textile product that has been world-famous for over 100 years is deepened.
